While creating the Computer Security Program for Mission Operations at Johnson Space Center, I was also teaching college classes at night. One day on a trip from Houston to Austin I stopped into a Wendy's. The lady behind the counter said, "I know you. You are the professor that taught me about computers. Today is my last day in this job. Tomorrow I start a job using what you taught me."
It is difficult to put value into helping others, but the mission here is do just that.
The name is an obvious spinoff of Johnny Appleseed. Where he was planting seeds to grow trees, I am planting security seeds to improve security awareness and grow the profession.
To educate people about the evils of the internet and to motivate people to become Cyber Security Professionals.
